Virtual care for Ottawa

100% virtual care

Bilingual virtual care for Ottawa.

MedVibe is a virtual clinic serving patients in Ontario and Québec. We do not operate a physical clinic in Ottawa — your request, the clinician's review, and your follow-up all happen online, with phone or video visits when clinically indicated.

Ottawa lives in two languages and, often, on both sides of the river. What matters for your visit is where you are at the time of care: in Ottawa, a clinician authorized to practise in Ontario sees you; at home in Gatineau, a clinician authorized in Québec. Choose your province and your language when you book.

If a prescription is appropriate, it goes to the pharmacy you choose in your neighbourhood. Lab requisitions, when issued, can be used at community laboratories in Ontario. And when a concern needs an in-person exam, the clinician says so clearly and directs you to a more suitable care setting.

How it works

One focused request, reviewed by a real clinician.

MedVibe handles a specific care request; it does not enrol you in comprehensive, longitudinal family medicine.

  1. Describe the concern

Choose a service and submit the information needed for a safe initial review — the online intake is open 24/7.

  2. A licensed clinician reviews it

The clinician determines whether virtual care is suitable and may ask for more information or recommend in-person care. Response times vary with clinician availability and the nature of the request.

  3. Receive clear next steps

When clinically appropriate, your care plan or document is delivered securely. Otherwise, you are directed to a more suitable care setting.

For Ottawa patients

What to know before you start.

  • Eligible adults physically located in Ontario at the time of care may request service, including residents, students, workers, and visitors. Your location, the service's suitability, and the clinician's authorization to practise in Ontario are confirmed before care.
  • Care is delivered in English or French — choose your preferred language during intake.
  • If a prescription is appropriate, your clinician can send it to your preferred pharmacy in Ottawa — in Centretown, Kanata, Orléans, Barrhaven, or any other neighbourhood.
  • Lab requisitions, when issued, can be used at community laboratories in Ontario. Whether a test is covered depends on the test and your OHIP status; the laboratory tells you if a fee applies.
  • MedVibe is a private clinic and does not bill OHIP for these consultations. The same private fee applies with or without an OHIP card, and you receive an official receipt for your insurer.
  • All prescriptions, notes, requisitions, and treatment plans are provided only when clinically appropriate and at the clinician's discretion.
Online intake is open 24/7; clinician response times vary with availability and the nature of the request.

The $150 medical consultation fee is tax-exempt, shown before you start, and paid securely online when you book. You receive an official receipt, and reimbursement may be available through private insurance, a workplace or student plan, or a health spending account. Check your plan; coverage is not guaranteed.
