2. What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, email, date of birth, health history relevant to your care request, and any identity or health-card documents you choose to upload to support your care), information generated through your use of the platform (intake answers, messages, appointment records), and technical information (IP address, browser type, usage analytics). We collect only what is necessary to deliver care and operate the platform.

3. How we use your information

To connect you with a clinician and facilitate your care request. To send you notifications about your case, appointments, and account. To improve platform safety and functionality. To comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use your health information for marketing without explicit consent.

4. Data sharing

Your information may be shared with: the licensed practitioner assigned to your case; authorized MedVibe staff who support your care, technical operations, and billing; our infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, email delivery) under appropriate data processing agreements; and regulatory bodies where legally required. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data residency

We aim to store personal data on infrastructure located in Canada (ca-central-1 region). Third-party processors are contractually bound to handle data appropriately.

6. Retention

We retain personal health information for the period required by applicable law and professional regulatory requirements. You may request deletion of account data subject to these obligations.

7. Your rights

Depending on your province, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw your consent at any time (withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide care). To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer at platform@medvibe.ca; we respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle. This includes encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. If you believe your information may have been affected by a privacy or security incident, contact our Privacy Officer at platform@medvibe.ca.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users by email.
