Frequently asked

Plain answers, up front.

What we can help with, what we can't, and how we keep your information safe along the way.

Quick answers

Sometimes — yes. A licensed Canadian clinician will review your intake and decide if a prescription is clinically appropriate for you. Not all medications can be prescribed online (controlled substances and certain categories require an in-person assessment), and prescriptions are never guaranteed.

Antibiotics are reviewed case-by-case. They are only appropriate for certain bacterial infections after clinical assessment. A clinician may decide that an in-person exam, swab, or alternative treatment is more appropriate. Antibiotics are not prescribed on demand and are never guaranteed.

Yes, where clinically appropriate. We can support sick notes, return-to-work clearances, school absence notes, and accommodation letters. Clinicians can only document what is clinically accurate; notes are never backdated.

Yes. A clinician can review your request and, if appropriate, issue a lab requisition you take to a participating laboratory in your province. Lab fees are billed separately by the lab.

Yes. Book a Blood Work Interpretation consultation, upload your results, and a clinician will walk through them with you in plain language. This is a discussion, not a diagnosis — we don't replace your family doctor.

Yes. You'll create a free MedVibe account before starting an intake or booking an appointment. Your account is where your clinician sends decisions, documentation, and follow-ups securely.

No. MedVibe is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department. For mental-health crises in Canada, call or text 988.

Your clinician will explain why and, where possible, suggest a more appropriate next step — such as an in-person visit, a different service, or a referral. Where MedVibe cannot help, we say so up front.

MedVibe currently operates in select Canadian provinces, with coverage expanding. Each service page lists current availability, and your eligibility is reconfirmed during intake.

No. Prescription, diagnosis, and treatment-plan decisions are made exclusively by your clinician based on a clinical assessment of your individual situation. MedVibe never guarantees any clinical outcome.

Services & Clinical

No. Prescription decisions are made exclusively by licensed practitioners based on clinical assessment of each individual case. MedVibe never guarantees prescriptions, diagnoses, or any specific clinical outcome.

MedVibe supports telehealth-appropriate services such as prescription renewals for stable conditions, medical notes, and virtual consultations. It is not appropriate for emergency care, complex diagnoses requiring physical examination, or controlled substance prescribing in many circumstances.

No. MedVibe is a complement to — not a replacement for — a primary care physician. We encourage all patients to maintain a relationship with a family doctor or primary care provider.

Your clinician will communicate their decision and reasoning through your patient account. They may suggest alternative care pathways or recommend an in-person visit where appropriate.

Privacy & Data

MedVibe is built with a privacy-first architecture. We collect only the minimum data necessary for your care. Data is stored on secure Canadian infrastructure and is handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

No. We never sell your personal health information to third parties.

Yes. You can request account deletion at any time. Certain records may be retained as required by applicable law or professional regulatory requirements. Contact our support team for details.

Pricing & Billing

MedVibe is a private clinic. Consultations are not covered by provincial health plans such as RAMQ (Québec) or OHIP (Ontario). You receive an official receipt that many private insurance plans reimburse, depending on your policy, and that may qualify for the medical expense tax credit. The fee is shown clearly before you submit a request.

Payment details are confirmed before you submit your intake or book an appointment. You will not be charged without your explicit confirmation.

Contact our support team and we will work with you to address your concern. Note that clinical decisions made by practitioners are independent and cannot be reversed by MedVibe.

Safety

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department. MedVibe is not an emergency service.

Please contact a crisis line immediately. In Canada, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide Crisis Helpline. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Our intake questionnaires include clinical red-flag questions. If your answers indicate an emergency situation, you will be directed to emergency services. However, this is not a substitute for professional emergency assessment.
